A Little Introduction

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jill, my husband's name is Jason, and we have a 2 1/2 year old daughter, Emslee. I am a SAHM, Jason works for KeyBank, and Emslee loves to sing, play, and dance. She is an absolute joy and definitely keeps us on our toes. :)
We have been trying to conceive for just over a year now. I have come to learn that in the realm of infertility, that may not be a very long time, compared to others who have been trying for years upon years. I guess I am just incredibly impatient because to me it feels like an eternity.
As a little background, 6 years ago Jason was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. 5 surgeries, 2 pacemakers, and hundreds of doctor visits later, his health is stable and we are grateful for every day we have. Having dealt with these serious health concerns since he was 24, he has adjusted as well as can be expected and we seem to have a handle on all the issues that come along with it - most days. :)
When we first got married, we planned to have four children. We thought it would be a nice, even number. We actually conceived Emslee very unexpectedly, (I was taking birth control) but she is the greatest blessing in our lives. We hoped to have each of our children spaced about 2.5-3 years apart. Ahh, the best laid plans, right?
We are experiencing something known as secondary infertility, meaning that we were able to have one child but have been unable to have another. We recently started seeing a fertility specialist to help us achieve our dream of expanding our little family.
It is my hope that this blog will become an outlet for my thoughts, feelings, and also a way for me to connect with others that may be experiencing the same or similar situations. If nothing else, I would like it to be a journal for my own personal use. I guess in the end I just need to put into writing all the things swirling around in my head. :)
